7th and 8th graders, when they see me, will get to look at an image for 3 minutes and silently think about which picture or item doesn't belong with the others. The neat thing is there is more than one answer...more than two... and so on! This forces them to think critically. Then, we share with each other about what we think. Neat. Here are the math "I can" statements/learning targets for the week. Yes, I teach them, too!
I can compare and order integers. I can add and subtract integers. Well, we survived! These first three days FLEW by! I love this age group! I introduced journal writing this week. Students in both grades, when with me, will write about a topic of interest, video, or quote each day. They are required to write a detailed paragraph each time. So far, so good! We do this all on Google Drive.
